Every year during the week leading up to Mother's Day, Habitat for Humanity hosts National Women Build Week to encourage women to join hands and eliminate poverty housing. Last year women in Utah Country successfully provided safe and accessible homes to many people in need. This year, while working on construction site, volunteers will have the opportunities to network and socialize with women from different careers including politics, business, education, healthcare, finance and real estate. Women who are interested in participating are welcome to register for a shift at http://www.habitatuc.org/women-build-week. Volunteers will be asked to donate $25 at registration. For a $25 donation, volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, lunch before and after the build shift and an invitation to a culmination party on May 15th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Orem site. This year, Habitat for Humanity is honored to have Lowe’s as a national sponsor for Women Build Week. Women from Lowe’s will work together with other volunteers on construction sites. Volunteers are encouraged to come to an optional construction clinic at Lowe’s in Orem on Thursday, April 30, 2015 and learn to build houses. For additional information, visit http://www.habitatuc.org/women-build-week, call Habitat’s volunteer coordinator, LeAnn Hillam, at (801) 344-8527 x 105 or email [email protected].
